Bonda Soup !

For Bonda

  • Urad dhal - 1 cup
  • Fine Semolina-1 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 2  chopped finely
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig roughly chopped 
  • Chopped Coconut pieces - 1 tsp.
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - as needed to fry the bondas .

METHOD:

Soak dhal in water for an hour or two . 


wash n drain the water completely . Grind to a fine paste only n only with very little water if required . 

Remove the batter when it turns fluffy . Add salt , chopped green chilles, cumin seeds, curry leaves, coconut pieces, and lastly add fine semolina . 

Heat oil in a deep kadai .  make golf size balls from the batter with the tip of the fingers and  Carefully drop 4 to 5 of them into the oil and deep fry until golden brown. 

Take them out on a tissue .

For Soup 

  • Moong Dhal -1 cup 
  • Chopped Ginger -1 tsp 
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 th tsp
  • Grated coconut-3 tsp
  • Green chillies -2 or to taste
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp 
  • Lime juice-1/2 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves- 4 tsp 
  • Salt to taste 


Method 
Pressure cook Moong dhal,ginger, cumin seeds,grated coconut ,turmeric powder n green chilies  for 1 whistle n dilute it to soup consistency add in salt , lime juice n garnish with coriander leaves !

Serving 
Add bondas to the hot soup n  
Serve hot.
