Terrace Grown Methi Dhal
  • Fresh Methi /Fenugreek Leaves -1 cup heaped 
  • Thur Dhal - 3/4 th cup 
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 th tsp 
  • Salt to taste 

  • Oil - 2 tsp 
  • Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp 
  • Curry leaves-1 sprig 
  • Onion finely chopped  -1 Medium  
  • Tomato, finely chopped -1 
  • Green chilly -3 or according to the spice , slit length wise 
  •  Dry red chilly - 2 , torn 
  • Garlic Flakes, slightly crushed -5 
  • Grated Ginger-1 tsp 
Wash the thur dhal n pressure cook it adding turmeric powder , then add the methi leaves n pressure cook just for a whistle . Cool n churn it .

In a kadai add oil n splutter mustard seeds ,then  add the cumin seeds n let it sweat , add curry leaves n  slightly crushed garlic flakes n roast till reddish brown , add torn dry red chilly, slit green chilly, grated ginger n fry for few minutes .  Add chopped onion n fry till reddish brown ..Add chopped tomato n cook till mushy . Add salt . Cooked dhal n methi leaves . Add water as per consistency n boil for a while .
