Kultha Koddel with mittagallale Keerlu ( Horse Gram cooked in coconut based gravy with brined Bamboo Shoots )
To grind to a fine paste
Wash horse gram n Pressure cook it for about 10 to 12 whistles or till cooked ( dont over cook n make it mushy )
Soak brined bamboo shoot pieces in enough water overnight or for few hours n wash it as much as around 5 times to remove the access salt .
Pressure cook washed brined bamboo shoots
Grind grated coconut, roasted dry red chillies n tamarind to a fine paste .
Add the ground paste to the cooked stuffs n boil well adding salt .
Then give the seasoning .
