Mushroom Fried Rice !

Mushroom Fried Rice ! 
  • Cooked Basmati Rice- 1 cup
  • Button Mushrooms- 2 cups (slit from between)
  •  Medium  Onions- 1 
  • Spring onion - 3 tsp 
  • Chopped ginger -1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic  -1tsp
  • Chopped green chilly-1or 2 according to the taste 
  • Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
  •  Soya Sauce- 2-3 tsp
  •  Ajinomoto- 1/4 th tsp ( i have not used ) 
  •  Sugar- 1/4 tsp (optional )
  • chopped Coriander leaves-2 tsp 
  •  Oil- 5-6 tbsp  
  • Salt- To taste 
In a kadai add oil , chopped garlic , ginger n green chillies ..fry for 2 mts. then add chopped onion n fry till golden brown  .. add mushrooms n cook for about 3 to 5 mts n then add chopped spring onions saute for 2 mts .Add salt, ajinomoto, sugar ,soya sauce n saute for a minute .then add the cooked basmathi rice n pepper powder ,mix well n keep stirring for 2  mts on low flame ..switch off and garnish with coriander leaves.
 Serve hot with any gravy !


  • Toor dal - 1 cup
  • Green chilly - 4  or according to the taste 

  • Oil/Ghee -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  •  Curry leaves - 1 sprig 
  • Dry red chillies -2
  • Hing/Asafoetida water- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Pressure cook toor dal with 1 tsp of oil . It has to be cooked well ,then churn it . Add slit green chillies with salt n boil well .Add water for desired consistency ( medium , neither too thin nor too thick ) 

In a seasoning  pan add oil or ghee , Add mustard seeds , when they splutter add torn red chillies n curry leaves...add this to the cooked dhal n then add hing water . Mix well 

Serve hot with rice.

Mushroom Chilly ! 
  • Sliced Mushrooms-2 cups 
  • Medium capsicum -1
  • Medium onions-2 
  • Garlic-6 flakes 
  • Ginger-small piece 
  • Green chillies-4
  • Ginger Garlic paste-1 tsp
  • Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
  • Soya sauce-2 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup-2 tsp 
  • Red chilly sauce-2 tsp
  • Corn flour-6 tsp
  • corn flour water ( in 1/4 th cup water add 1 tsp corn flour ) 
  • coriander leaves for garnishing 
  • Salt to taste 
  • oil for frying 

Add chilly powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, corn flour and little water to sliced mushrooms ..mix well n deep fry .

Chop onions, capsicum n green chillies lengthwise .. chop ginger and garlic .

In a kadai add oil , chopped garlic , chopped ginger and green chillies n fry for 2 to 4 mts . add onions n fry till pink n then add capsicum n fry for 10 mts ,add salt ,soya sauce, tomato ketchup,red chilly sauce , cornflour water n fried mushrooms ..mix well till everything is coated well to the fried mushrooms n then garnish with coriander leaves .

Milk Powder cookies ...

Milk Powder cookies !
  • Maida-200 gms 
  • Margarine - 100 gms 
  • Powdered Sugar-100 gms 
  • Milk powder-50 gms ( i have used nestle milk powder ) 
  • Soda bicarbonate-1/4 th tsp 
  • 1 tsp of any essence or 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder 

Sieve Maida , milk powder n soda bicarbonate .. 

Cream margarine n powdered sugar little by little with clockwise direction till light and fluffy.  

Add in the sieved mixture little by little and add either the essence or cardamom powder .. mix well to form a dough ..

Form into small round balls from the dough flatten a little n arrange on a baking sheet. 

Bake at 150 degree for 20 mts .

Eggless Dates Cake !

Eggless Dates Cake ! 
  • Maida-1 cup
  • Sugar-3/4 th cup
  • Oil-1/2 cup
  • Seedless Dates-18 
  • Milk-3/4 th cup
  • Cooking soda -1 tsp 


Soak dates in warm milk for about 2 hours n then grind it along with sugar . 

Sieve maida with soda .

In a bowl add the ground mix n then oil n mix well .. add in the sieved maida little by little n mix well .

Preheat the oven at 350F. Bake the cake for 35-40min (or till a knife inserted in the cake comes out clean).
