Pedvo / Sardines Fries

Pedvo / Sardines  Fries   
  •  Pedvo / Sardines . - 15 
  • Red chilly powder- 2 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 th tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour-1 tblsp
  • Oil to deep fry 
  • Salt to taste 

Method 
Clean the fish .

In a bowl add chilly powder , turmeric powder, hing,  salt , add fish n mix well .


Keep aside for 1/2 an hour . 

Roll the marinated fish over rice flour n deep fry in oil .

Modi Fish n Sardines Fish Fries

Modi Fish n Sardines Fish Fries 

Modi Fish Fries 

  • Modi Fish  - 3 
  • Red chilly powder- 3 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2  tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 2 tsp 
  • salt to taste 


Method 
Cut the Modi fish n Clean them . Make some cuts in between so that the masala coats well . 

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned fish  n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai , run the marinated  fish in rice flour n deep fry till crisp .

  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 1 tsp 
  • salt to taste 

Method 
Cut the sardines  n Clean them . 

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned sardine's   n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai , run the marinated  fish in rice flour n deep fry till crisp . 



Serve hot with lime wedges n onion slices .

Manji n Visonu Gulli saronu fries / Pomfret n Sheer fish fries with ground batter

Manji n Visonu  Gulli saronu fries  / Pomfret  n  Sheer fish fries with ground batter 
  • Pomfret fish .. 2 huge 

For ground masala

  • Red chillies ( not roasted ) -12 to 15
  • Raw Rice-1 cup
  • Hing /Asafoetida- generous  pinch ( i use solid hing ) 
  • Salt to taste 
  • oil-for deep frying 

Method 
Clean pomfret n slice them to pieces .

Soak rice for 2 hrs and grind it along with red chillies ,hing n Salt to a fine paste ( just sprinkle water while grinding ,as the batter has to really very thick  ) , Apply this masala paste to coat the fish  n keep aside for 1/2 an hr ..

Heat oil  in a deep kadai , n deep fry them !


Visonu  Gulli saronu fries ( Sheer fish fries with ground batter )

  • Red chilly powder- 4 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 3 tsp 
  • salt to taste 

Method 
Cut the butter fish  n Clean them n make cuts in between . 

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned butter fish  n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai , run the marinated butter fish in rice flour n deep fry till crisp .

Manji Pomfret n Koddai /Croaker Fish Rawa Fries

Manji Pomfret Rawa fries 
  • Pomfret /Maanji  - 1 
  • Red chilly powder- 2 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 th tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour-3 tsp
  • Semolina /Rawa- 1 tblsp  
  • Oil ..to deep fry 
  • Salt to taste 

Method 
Clean the pomfret , slice them ..keep aside

In a bowl add chilly powder , turmeric powder, hing, rice flour,  salt , add sliced pomfret  n mix well .Keep aside for 1/2 an hour . 

Roll the marinated fish over rawa n deep fry in oil .


Koddai /Croaker Fish Rawa Fries 
  • Koddai/ Croaker fish ..6 to 8 
  • Red chilly powder- 2 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 th tsp
  • Asafoetida/Hing - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour-1 tblsp 
  • Semolina /Rawa- 1 tblsp  
  • Salt to taste 
  • Oil to deep fry 

Method 
Clean the crocker n skin out  ..keep aside

In a bowl add chilly powder , turmeric powder, hing, rice flour,  salt , add the skinned out croacker/koddai fish  n mix well .Keep aside for 1/2 an hour . 

Roll the marinated fish over rawa n deep fry in oil .

Sungata /Prawns , Lepa /Sole n  Soundale /Butter Fish Fries . 

Prawns Fries 
  • Prawns .. 15 
  • Red chilly powder- 4 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 3 tsp 
  • salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying 

Method 
Peel n clean the prawns

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned prawns  n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai , run the marinated prawns in rice flour n deep fry till crisp . 


Lepa ( Sole Fish ) fries  .
  • Lepa /Sole fish - 8
  • Red chilly powder- 1 tblsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 3 tsp 
  • Oil for deep frying 
  • salt to taste 

Method 
Cut the sole fish , remove the skin  n Clean them ... 

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned sole fish  n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai .. run the  marinated sole fish  in rice flour n deep fry on both sides till crisp .

Pedvo / Sardines Fish fries n Raja Phanna upkari ! ( Mackerel's in spicy ground masala )

  Pedvo  /  Sardines Fish fries n Raja Phanna upkari ! ( Mackerel's in spicy ground masala ) 

Pedvo  /  Sardines Fish fries 
  • Pedvo /Sardines ..10 t0 12 
  • Red chilly powder- 1 tblsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - generous pinch 
  • Rice flour - 1 tblsp 
  • salt to taste 
  • Oil for deep frying 

Method  

Clean the sardine's n add in water with salt n turmeric powder  n palce cleaned fish in it for sometime as this will reduce the stink of the fish ..wash again n keep aside .
 In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned sardine's   n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai .. run the marinated sardine's  in rice flour n deep fry on both sides till crisp .


Raja Phanna upkari ! ( Mackerel's in spicy ground masala ) 
  • Raju/ Bangude/ Mackerel-3
  • Kashmiri /Byadagi long chillies- 10 
  • Round red chillies-6
  • Tamarind- Tamarind seed size 
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 th tsp 
  • Salt to taste 

Seasoning
  • Coconut oil- 1tblsp
  • Onions - 2 small or 1 medium (chopped ) 

Method 

clean mackerel's  and cut into 2 or 3 pieces depending on the size of the fish n always add little turmeric powder while cleaning  the fish as that wont make the fish stink . 

Soak tamarind in little water for 10 minutes.


In a pan add a tsp of oil n roast both chillies . cool and grind it along with soaked tamarind, turmeric powder n salt to a very fine paste. 


In a kadai  add oil n then add chopped onions n fry till reddish brown . Add the ground paste, water for consistency n boil well. Add the fish pieces n cook for just 2 or 3 mts .

  • Visonu /Sheer fish -  cleaned slant pieces..4 
  • Red chilly powder- 4 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - generous pinch 
  • Rice flour - 3tsp 
  • salt to taste 
  • Oil for deep frying 
  • Lemon slice ..2 
Method 
In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder n salt ... add the cleaned sheer fish pieces  n keep aside for sometime .

Heat oil in a kadai .. run the marinated sheer fish /visonu  in rice flour n deep fry on both sides till crisp .


Squeeze lime juice over the fried fish just before serving

Raju /Mackerels /Bangude Rawa fries 
  • Mackerels /bangude- 3 
  • Red chilly powder- 1 tblsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 2 pinch 
  • Rice flour - 1 tblsp  
  • Semolina /Rawa- 1 tblsp  
  • salt to taste 
  • Oil for deep frying 

Method 
Cut the mackerels n Clean them , slice them if huge , make some marks on it so that the masala coats well  
In a bowl add chilly powder , turmeric powder, hing, rice flour,  salt , add sliced  n cleaned mackerels in it ,mix well n keep aside for sometime .

  Keep aside for 1/2 an hour . 

Roll the marinated fish over rawa n deep fry in oil .

 Mothyale  Ghashi Silver fish cooked in Coconut Based Gravy ) 
  • Silver fish - 15 
  • Salt to taste 

For grinding to a fine paste 
Grated coconut- 1 cup 
Roasted dry rd chillies- 6 
Tamarind -Tamarind seed size

Seasoning 

  • Oil-2 tsp 
  • Onion -1 chopped 

Method 
wash n clean the silver fish .

Grind all the ingredients meant to grind to a fine paste . 

Boil the ground masala well adding salt . once the gravy is boiled well , add the cleaned  fish n give a quick boil . Then give the seasoning
