Fresh Green Peas Masala Rice
- Cooked Rice..2 cup's ( i used Sona Masuri )
- Fresh green peas ... 1 cup
- Onion..1
- Tomato..1
- Green chillies slit lengthwise.. 3 or according to the spice
- Garlic cloves,.. 5
- Cumin seeds..1 tsp
- Turmeric powder..1/4 th tsp
- Ghee... 1 tblsp
- Salt to taste
To grind to a powder
- Coriander seeds..3 tsp
- Cloves...4
- Cinnamon..2 inch piece
- Fennel seeds / saunf ...3/4 th tsp
Method
Chop onions, chop tomato n slit green chilly lengthwise, crush garlic cloves .
Dry roast coriander seeds, cloves , cinnamon stick on low flame till coriander seeds turn light brown .
Dry roast fennel seeds till it changes the color on low flame .
Cool the dry roasted ingredients n powder them .
Wash n pressure cook fresh green peas with little water for just one whistle . dont overcook n make them mushy .
In a kadai melt ghee, add cumin seeds , once it crackles add the crushed garlic n fry for a while .Add chopped onion n fry till brownish . Add slit green chilles , fry for a second , add chopped tomato , cook till the raw smell goes , add salt , turmeric powder n roasted ground powder n fry for a while .Add cooked green peas n rice .Mix well .
Serve hot with raitha .
