Pagila Sasama ( Cantola in coconut based mustard gravy )

  • Pagila /Cantola ... 4 
  • Oil for deep frying 


To grind 


  • Grated coconut..1/2 cup
  • Roasted dry red chilles .. 3
  • Tamarind ..Tamarind seed size 
  • Dry roasted mustard seeds ... 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste .


Season


  • Oil..1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds..1/2 tsp 


Method
Wash the cantola n chop it into 2 inch cubes , rub salt to it n keep aside for sometime

Heat oil in a kadai , squeeze well the chopped cantola pieces n deep fry till crisp .

Grind grated coconut, tamarind , roasted dry red chilles n just before removing the ground masala , add the dry roasted mustard seeds n grind just for 1/2 a minute . Remove the ground masala , add little water , salt , mix well ..Give the seasoning n just before serving mix the fried cantola pieces . .

Note : The ground masala should be semi coarse n not too fine ...
