Menthya -Hitkida Avrekalu Masala Baath ( Rice cooked with Deskinned Hyacinth Beans cooked n fresh fenugreek leaves masala )

Menthya -Hitkida Avrekalu Masala Baath ( Rice cooked with De skinned Hyacinth Beans cooked n  fresh fenugreek leaves masala )


  • Zeera samba rice - 1 cup
  • Hitkida Avrekalu / De skinned Hyacinth Beans - 1 cup
  • Fresh Fenugreek leaves- 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Onions- 2 medium
  • Tomato-1 huge
  • Ginger Garlic Paste -1tsp 
  • Cloves- 3
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 inch piece
  • Green chilles- 2
  • Whole green cardamom - 1
  • Marati moggu-2
  • Bay Leaf -1
  • Javathri/ Nutmeg- a very small piece .
  • Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder-1tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1/4 th tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 th  tsp
  • Coconut Milk - 1 cup
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Oil- 4 tsp
  • Salt to taste


Method
Peel Avrekalu n soak it in enough water for about 5 hours .Press each soaked seeds n remove the outer skin. 

Add oil in a pressure cooker , add Cloves, Cinnamon, cardamom, marati moggu, javithri, bay leaf  n fry for a minute . Add in  chopped onions n fry till transparent . Add ginger garlic paste n fry for minute , add chopped green chilles n fry again for a while.Add chopped tomatoes n fry till the raw smell goes. Add the chopped methi leaves n fry for sometime n then add the de skinned   avrekalu  fry till  the raw smell goes . Add all the powders n fry for a minute . Add rice, coconut milk, water , coriander leaves  salt n mix well ... pressure cook for 2 whistle .

Serve hot with raitha
