Onion Rassa

Onion Rassa 

To grind to a fine paste

  • Onion - 1 ( Half piece for grinding n 1/2 piece while boiling ) 
  • Garlic Flakes- 4 
  • Coriander Seeds - 2 tsp 
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp 
  • Methi/Fenugreek seeds- 1/ 4th tsp 
  • Dry red chillies- 4 
  • Turmeric powder- little 
  • Grated coconut- 1/2 cup 
  • Tamarind- Tamarind seed size 
  • Oil - 1 tsp 
  • Salt to tatse 


Seasoning 

  • Ghee - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Onion - 1 
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig 


Method
In oil roast sliced onions, crushed garlic flakes, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, methi seeds, dry red chillies , cool n grind it to a fine paste along with grated coconut, turmeric powder n  tamarind . 

Boil the ground paste with sufficient water , chopped onions n salt  . Then give the seasoning . 

Note :This goes well for idly, dosa n even with rice .
