Bullet shaped Undi's With Spicy Instant Batate Songa /Potatoes Spicy Masala
Undi ( Steamed rice rawa dumplings )
- Rice Rawa - 1 cup
- Grated coconut-1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
Seasoning
- Oil- 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
- Urid dhal-1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds- 1/4 th tsp
- Curry leaves-1 sprig
Soak rice rawa, salt n grated coconut in enough water for about 10 minutes .
In a kadai add oil , Mustard seeds n once it splutters add urid dhal , fenugreek seeds, curry leaves , now drop the soaked stuff , n stir continiously till it becomes fairly stiff . switch off and shape them into any desired shape n steam for 12 to 15 mts .
Instant Batate Songa /Potatoes Spicy Masala
- Potatoes ..3 medium
- Onion ..1 huge
- Oil ..1 tblsp
- Red chilly Powder ..2 tsp heaped
- Coriander powder ..1 tsp
- Tamarind ..Goose berry size
- Salt to taste
Method
Wash n pressure cook potatoes ... cool, remove the skin n chop into 2 inch piecesSoak tamarind in little water for about 20 mts . Squeeze it well n retain the thick water .
Chop Onion
In a kadai add oil n add in chopped onion n fry till reddish brown .. Add red chilly powder , coriander powder n stir for few seconds ..Add the thick tamarind water , salt , boiled chopped potatoes n mix well cooking for few mts .
