Naivedyam on the eve of the most auspicious day :) Panchkadayi , Kabuli Chana Usli, Moogadhali Usli, Laayi Pitta Undo, Thila Undo , Nirikshana n Fresh fruits :) Krishnaya Namah :)

Naivedyam on the eve of the most auspicious day Krishna Janmastami  Panchkadayi , Kabuli Chana Usli, Moogadhali Usli, Laayi Pitta Undo, Thila Undo , Nirikshana n Fresh fruits  Krishnaya Namah :) 



Panckadayi 
Moong Dhal/Yellow Split green gram ... 1 cup
Black sesame seeds/Black thil ... 1/4 th cup 
Grated coconut ... 1/2 cup
Jaggery .. 1/2 cup 
Cardamom powder...1/2 tsp 

Method 

Dry roast black thil on sim flame till they splutter ..Keep aside 

Dry roast moong dhal on sim flame till it changes colour ... but dont burn it ..cool n coarsely powder it .

In a kadai melt jaggery , add grated jaggery ..stir for a while ... Switch off n add coarsely powdered moong dhal n mix well . Add cardamom powder n mix again .

Kabuli chana usli 
  • Kabuli chana - 2 cups 
  • Oil- 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves- 2 sprigs 
  • Green chillies- 3 or according to the taste 
  • Hing/Asafoetida- 2 pinch
  • Grated coconut-1/4 th cup 
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp 

Method
Soak Kabuli chana overnight . 

Pressure cook it for 10 to 12 whistle or till cooked .

In a kadai add oil , splutter mustard, add chopped green chillies , hing along with curry leaves n fry for a while . add the cooked chana along with salt , add grated coconut n mix well . switch off and add lemon juice .


Mooga dhali usli / Moong dhal usli

  • Moong Dhal/ Yellow split moong dhal - 1 cup
  • Water- 2 or 21/2 cups
  • Salt to taste . 

Seasoning



  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig
  • Green chilles - 2 or 3 
  •  Ginger- 1/2 inch piece

Garnishing



  • Grated coconut- 1 tblsp

Method
Wash moong dhal . 

Slit or chop green chilles.


Chop ginger finely .


In a kadai add oil, splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves, water , green chilles , chopped ginger n boil well , Add salt,  the washed  moong dhal, cover n cook till the dhal is soft but not mushy . Then Garnish . 


Laayi Pitti Undo ( Puffed Paddy Powder Ladoo ) 

  • Laayi Pitto/Puffed Paddy Powder ... 2 cups 
  • Black Thil/Black Sesame seeds ... 2 tsp 
  • Broken Cashewnuts ... 2 tsp 
  • Jaggery ... 1 cup 
  • Water ... 1/4 th cup 
  • Cardamom powder ... 1/2 tsp 
  • Ghee ..1 tblsp 

Method 
Dry roast the black thil on sim flame till they splutter . keep aside 

In a tsp of ghee , roast the broken cashewnuts . Keep aside .


In a thick bottomed kadai, add water n jaggery ...let it melt n cook for a while . Switch off the flame ..


In a bowl add the puffed paddy powder, roasted black thil , roasted cashewnuts , ghee n add the jaggery mixture . Mix well, grease the palm n then make round shaped ladoo's 


Thila Undo / Sesame  Ladoo
  • Black Thil/Black Sesame seeds ...1/2 cup
  • White Thil/White Sesame seeds ..1/2 cup
  • Jaggery ... 2 lemon size(crush n powder it ) 
  • Water ..little
  • Cardamom powder..1 tsp 
  • Ghee ..2 tsp 

 Method

 Wash both the sesame seeds n dry them well on cotton cloth till all the moisture evaporates .

Dry roast them in a kadai till it splutters on sim flame . Remove .


Melt Jaggery adding water till 1 string . Add the roasted sesame seeds , Cardamom powder n mix well . Grease hands n make  ladoo's when still warm .
