Jackfruit idlies - version 2

Jack fruit idlies - Version 2 


  • Raw Rice- 1 cup 
  • Grated coconut- 2 cups 
  • Grated Jaggery- 1 cup 
  • Jack fruit pieces - 1 cup 
  • A few Raisins n slit cashewnuts 
  • Salt to taste . 



Method 
Soak raw rice in water for about 2 hours ..Drain it .

Grind rice, grated coconut to a coarse paste . Then add Grated jaggery , chopped jack fruit pieces n grind again ... The batter should be semi coarse . Remove it , add salt n mix well  . No need to ferment the batter . 

Grease an  idly mould then place  2 or 3 raisins n cashewnuts n then pour the ground batter in the  mould n steam for about 15 to 20 mts. .

Serve hot with ghee/Butter .
