Small Green Round Brinjal's cooked in Poppy seeds spicy Gravy

- Poppy Seeds...1 tblsp heaped
- Oil ...3 tsp
- Mustard seeds ..1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds ..1/4 th tsp
- Curry Leaves ..1 sprig
- Ginger Garlic Paste ..1 tsp
- Green chilly ..2
- Onion ...2 large
- Tomato..1 large
- Red Chilly Powder .. 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder...1/4 th tsp
- Coriander powder ..1 tsp
- Cumin Powder..1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder..1/4 th tsp
- Coriander leaves chopped ..2 tsp
- Lime Juice ...1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Wash n pat dry the small green round brinjal's n slit each brinjal into four sections lengthwise without cutting off the crown n stem . Soak the slit brinjals in water to remove the bitterness if any .
Dry roast the poppy seeds , cool n crush it with rolling pin .. n grind to a fine paste adding little water ...
Chop Onion's n tomato n sit green chilly .
In a kadai add oil n sputter mustard seeds , Add cumin seeds n let it crackle ,add curry leaves , slit green chilly n stir for a few seconds, add ginger garlic paste n fry it ..add chopped onions n fry till pinkish red , add chopped tomato n cook till mushy . Add all the powders, salt , poppy seeds paste n fry for few mts ,add little water n place the green round brinjals n cook till done . Garnish with coriander leaves n lime juice .
