Biscuit Chapathi

Biscuit Chapathi

For the dough

  • Wheat flour .. 1 cup
  • Hot oil... 2 tsp
  • Water as needed to prepare a soft dough
  • Salt to taste


For the filling

  • Oil ..3 tsp
  • Grated coconut..1/2 cup
  • Green chilles ..3
  • Mustard seeds..1 tsp
  • Urad dhal..3 tsp
  • Curry leaves... 2 sprig
  • Red chilly powder... 1/2 tsp or according to the spice
  • Hing /Asafoetida..a generous pinch
  •  Rawa/semolina ..3 tsp
  • Salt to taste .


Method
In a bowl add wheat flour, hot oil, salt n enough water n prepare a soft dough .Keep aside for 20 mts .

Grind grated coconut n green chilles to a coarse paste .
Finely chop curry leaves

In a kadai add oil n splutter mustard seeds , chopped curry leaves , urid dhal n fry till brown . Add hing , chilly powder n coarsely ground grated coconut green chilly mixture n semolina n mix well . Allow it to cool

To roll the chapathi 



Take small portion of the dough and flatten into a disc, place a tablespoon of the filling in the centre of the disc and pinch the sides together around the filing and roll out as chapathis   . Roast on both sides on hot tawa , adding a little oil !
