Moong Dhal with Kasuri Methi 


  • Yellow split Moong Dhal - 1 cup 
  • Ghee - 1 tblsp 
  • Cumin seeds -2 tsp 
  • Hing /Asafoetida -2 pinch 
  • Ginger -1 inch piece
  • Cloves/Lavang  -3 
  •  Green Chilly -2 
  • Tomato -2 
  • Kasuri methi crushed - 2 tblsp 
  • Red Chilly Powder -1 tsp.kashmiri laal 
  • Coriander Powder -2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp 
  • Garam Masala Powder- 1/2 tsp 
  • Coriander leaves - chopped 2 tsp 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water as required to cook dhal 


Method 
Wash n soak moong dhal for about 10 mts .

Remove the skin of ginger n pound  it along with cloves . 

Chop tomatoes n green chilly .

In a pressure cooker , melt ghee add cumin seeds n allow it to splutter n then add pounded ginger n cloves n stir for few seconds , Add hing , green chilly n tomatoes ..stir till the tomatoes turn mushy n cooked . Add all the powders , crushed kasuri methi , soaked moong dhal , salt n water n pressure cook for 3 or 4 whistle . Then garnish with coriander leaves .
