Gojju Chitrana
- Cooked left over rice - 2 cups
- Tamarind - lemon size
- Jaggery - Chick pea size
- Rasam Powder- 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Seasoning
- Oil - 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Urid dhal- 1 tsp
- Chana dhal- 1tsp
- Curry leaves- 1 sprig
- Groundnuts- 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 th tsp
Garnishing
White sesame seeds/ Thil ( roasted and powdered ) - 2 tsp
Grated dry copra - 4 tsp
Method
Soak Tamarind in little water for about 1/2 an hour .
Dry roast white sesame seeds , cool n powder it with rolling pin .
In a kadai add oil n splutter mustard seeds ... add in urid dhal,chana dhal , ground nut n fry for a while . Add curry leaves along with turmeric powder .
Squeeze the tamarind extract n to it add rasam powder n mix well .
Add this tamarind rasam gojju mix in the kadai n boil well along with jaggery n salt . Add the cooked rice n mix well . Do the garnishing .
