Matar Paratha/Stuffed Green Peas Paratha ..Version 2
- Whole wheat flour ..2 cup's
- Oil ..2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed to prepare a soft dough .
For stuffing
- Green Peas .. 2 cup's
- Besan /Gramflour .. 1 tblsp
- Green chilly ..3
- Coriander leaves chopped ...2 tsp
- Oil.. 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds ...1/2 tsp
- Hing/Asafoetida ..a generous pinch .
- Salt to taste .
Method for outer dough
In a wide bottomed vessel add the wheat flour, oil,salt n mix ..add water n prepare a soft dough .Set aside for 1/2 an hour . Then make equal golf sized balls of the dough .
Method for stuffing
Wash n pressure cook green peas just for a whistle .
Pour the cooked green peas in a colander ,so that all the water is drained n no moisture retains . Mash it well .
In a kadai dry roast besan on sim flame , till warm dont burn it ... Remove it ..
In the same kadai add oil,add cumin seeds n stir till it gives a nice aroma ..Remove ..
Add the roasted besan n cumin seeds to the mashed cooked peas along with finely chopped green chilly n coriander leaves 'salt n mix well ... Make lemon sized ball of it ...
Divide the dough into equal sized balls .
Take the dough ball , dust n roll into a disc , place the stuffing in the centre n close from all sides .
Roll into thick paratha
Heat a tawa n place the paratha n roast on both sides applying butter or ghee.
Serve hot with curds n pickle .
