- Urid Dhal.. 1/2 cup
- Navane Rawa /Foxtail Millet Semolina ..3/4 th cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil ..1 tsp
- Mustard seeds ..1/2 tsp
- Dry red chilly torn 1 or 2
- Curry leaves ..4 to 5 torn
Method
Wash n soak urid dhal for about 4 hours or overnight ... Grind it to a fine paste . To it add foxtail millet , salt, little water for consistency ( the consistency of the batter should be thick like idly batter ) .. mix well n set aside for about 15 to 20 mts ... check the batter n if its too thick add water again n mix well ...
Heat a thick bottomed iron kadai or even a tawa , then add oil ,splutter mustard seeds, add torn dry red chilly n curry leaves ...add a ladle full batter , dont spread too much .. cover n cook till crisp on medium to low flame on both sides ..
Repeat so for rest of the batter
Note :No need for fermentation
