Hitikida Avarekalu Masala Saaru
- Hitikida Avarekalu /Deskined Hyacnith beans - 1 cup
- Red Chilly Powder - 1-1/2 tsp . Kashmiri laal n adjust according to the spice .
- Coriander powder- 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4 th tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
To grind to a paste
- Grated coconut - 1 tblsp
- Onion - 1/2 of 1
- Tomato -1/2 of 1
- Cloves -4
- Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
- Coriander leaves - a few leaves
- Roasted Gram /Hurikadale - 1 tblsp
- Garlic flakes - 5
- Ginger . 1/2 inch piece
Seasoning - 1
- Oil - 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Onion - 1 , medium chopped
- Tomatoes - 2 small ,chopped
Seasoning- 2
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Crushed Garlic flakes - 3 to 4
Method
Grind grated coconut ,onion , tomato , Cloves, Cinnamon , Coriander leaves ,Roasted gram , garlic flakes n ginger to a fine paste .
In a kadai add oil ,splutter mustard seeds. add cumin seeds , curry leaves n stir for few seconds . Add chopped onion n fry till pinkish red , add chopped tomatoes n salt ..cook till mushy . Add the ground masala paste n fry till oil leaves the masala . Add hitkida avrekalu n stir for few seconds ,Add all the powders , water as needed n cook till the hitkida avrekalu turns soft .Heat oil in a small pan , add crushed garlic flakes n roast till its brown ..Add this seasoning over the gravy n garnish with coriander leaves .
