Punjabi Capsicum Masala

Punjabi Capsicum Masala 

  • Capsicum- 2 Medium 
  • Oil-1 tsp

To temper
  • Oil-2 or 3 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1 tsp
  • Bay leaf- 1 huge 
  • Cinnamon stick-1 inch
  • Red Chilly Powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Kasuri Methi- 1/2 tsp
  • Water- 1 or 11/2 glass
  • Salt to taste

To grind
  • Onion -2 medium
  • Tomatoes-3 small
  • Garlic cloves-5/6
  • Ginger- 1 Inch 
  • Coriander seeds- 1 tsp
  • Green chillies- 2 or according to the spice


Method
Cube the capsicum n saute it with oil till it turns light brown here and there. Keep aside.

Grind onions, tomatoes, garlic cloves,ginger , coriander seeds n green chillies to a smooth paste and Keep aside.
In a kadai add oil n splutter cumin seeds, add in bay leaf, cinnamon stick n fry for a minute ,then add the ground paste n fry well till the raw smell goes, n the oil oozes out of the masala .. ... add in the powders , salt n water . n cook for a while .then add the sauteed capsicum to the gravy and blend it well. Top with crushed kasoori Methi .
