Jeev Thori songa with ground masala ( Pigeon Peas cooked in spicy gravy )
- Jeev Thori / Thogrikayi / Pigeon peas - 1cup
- Potatoes- 2 small, peeled n chopped to 2 inch piece's
- Onion -1 small roughly chopped
- Grated coconut- 2 tsp
- Coriander seeds -2 tsp ( not roasted )
- Roasted dry red chilly - 3 short n 8 long
- Tamarind - Tamarind seed size
- Salt to taste
Seasoning
- oil - 3 tsp
- Onion - 2 chopped
Pressure cook Jeev thori along with chopped potatoes n onion for 1 whistle ( dont discard the water )
Grind red chillies , coriander seeds n tamarind to a very fine paste N just before removing the masala add grated coconut n grind coarsely .
In a kadai add 2 tsp oil , chopped onions and fry till reddish brown , add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell goes ,add salt ,the boiled stuffs n boil for few minutes .
