Methi Chapathi With Mixed Soppu Palya 

 For Methi Chapathis
  • Wheat flour-2 cups
  • Fenugreek / Methi leaves-   use only the leaves .2 cup's 
  •   Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilly  powder-1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp 
  • Salt
  • Water as needed to prepare the dough 

Wash fenugreek leaves well n chop them roughly . 

In a bowl, add wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chilly powder,oil , salt , water n prepare a soft dough . 

     Cover the dough and leave it for 30 minutes.
    Divide the dough into equal balls , bail out chapathis n place it on a heated tawa n roast on both sides . 

     Mixed Soppu  Palya 

    • Mixed Soppu/Mixed Greens like Palak ,Methi,Dantu , Harive n Huli soppu - washed n chopped .. 2 cup's use Huli soppu little lesser as its sour to taste . can use any greens of one's choice . 
    • Thur Dhal..1/2 cup 
    •  Green chilly ...2 chopped 
    •  Peanuts-1/4 th  cup
    • Besan /Gram Flour - 2 tblsp  
    •  Turmeric Powder -1/4 th  tsp 
    • Red Chilly Powder ..1 tsp 
    • Tamarind - Gooseberry size ( soak in water n extract the thick juice )
    • Salt to taste 


    • Oil- 2 tsp 
    •  Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
    • Asafoetida/Hing -1/2 tsp 
    • Curry leaves ...1 sprig  
    • Dry red chilly - 2 broken 


     Wash and pressure cook the thur dhal n churn it .

    Pressure cook the chopped  leaves along with peanuts n green chilly 

     Once cooked , strain the water and keep aside.
     When the greens  is cooled , slightly mash it  add the besan to it  n mix well. Make sure that  no lumps is formed . Add the cooked strained water ,cooked thur dhal , chilly powder, turmeric powder  ,tamarind extract n  salt ,mix n  boil well ... 

     Once done give the seasoning 

    This is a semi thick gravy
