White Rice, Dalithoy, Thambdi Bhaji Upkari, Batate Happolu n Piyava Gojju
Dalithoy
- Toor dal - 1 cup
- Green chilly - 4 or according to the taste
- Oil/Ghee -1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Dry red chillies -2
- Hing/Asafoetida water- 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Pressure cook toor dal with 1 tsp of oil . It has to be cooked well ,then churn it . Add slit green chillies with salt n boil well .Add water for desired consistency ( medium , neither too thin nor too thick )
In a seasoning pan add oil or ghee , Add mustard seeds , when they splutter add torn red chillies n curry leaves...add this to the cooked dhal n then add hing water . Mix well
Thambdi Bhaji upkari /Red Amaranthus leaves stir fry
- Thambdi Bhajji /Red Amaranthus leaves ..1 bunch
- Oil..2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Dry Red Chillies- 3 broken
- Jaggery - Marble size
- Grated coconut... 1 tblsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Wash red Amaranthus bunch .
Chop the leaves and tender stem .
Add oil in kadai , splutter mustard seeds , then add torn dry red chillies saute for a while then add chopped leaves and stems. Saute for few seconds and add very little water, jaggery n salt . Cook it covered . Add grated coconut n mix well .
.Piyava (Onion ) Gojju
- Onion .. 1 medium
- Tamarind ... 1 gooseberry size
- Dry red chilles..4
- Oil..1 tsp
- Salt to taste .
Soak tamarind in enough water for about 10 mts .
Soak the dry red chilles in little water for 10 mts
Wash n finely chop onion . Keep aside .
Squeeze the tamarind well , discard the residue n to the tamarind water , add the soaked dry red chilly n mash well . Add chopped onion, salt , mix well n then add a tsp of oil .
