Gasa Gasa Payasam ( Poppy seeds payasam )
  • Gasa Gasa/poppy seeds- 1/2 cup
  • Grated jaggery- 3/4 th or 1 cup
  • Grated coconut-1/2 cup
  • Almonds-10 
  • Cashewnuts-10
  • Raw Rice- 2 tsp
  •  Milk-2 cups 
  • Cardamom powder-1/2 tsp  

For garnishing 
  • Ghee-1tsp
  • Cashewnuts- a few
  • Raisins-a few 
Fry both in ghee
Method 
Dry roast poppy seeds in a kadai till it pops in a sim flame . cool and soak it along with raw rice, almonds n cashewnuts in water for 1 hour and then grind it along with grated coconut to a fine paste .

Add water to the ground paste n boil well stirring continuously for 15 mts on sim flame , then add jaggery n boil well till it melts .

Switch off and add milk , cardamom powder and garnish .
