Mallige Idly

Mallige Idly 
  • Urid dhal- 1 cup
  • Idly rice-3 cups
  • Cooked rice-1/2 cup
  • churmuri/ puffed rice-1/2 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds-1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste 

Method
Soak rice for 5 hours.

Soak urid dhal and fenugreek together for 4 hours.

Grind urid n fenugreek to a very fine paste .

Grind rice n when about to remove the batter add cooked rice n puffed rice( previously soaked in water for 5 mts )  and grind for few minutes.

Mix both the batter ,add salt and ferment overnight .

Grease the idly mould , pour in the batter n steam for 20 mts .

Serve with chutney / sambar .
