Kooka Phanna Upkari ( Chinese potato in onion based spicy tangy gravy ) 

  • Chinese Potato /Kooka - 1/4 kg 
  • Onion -3 
  • Tomato-1 
  • Tamarind paste- 1 tsp
  • Chilly powder- 2  tsp or according to the taste
  • Oil- 3 tsp
  • Salt t taste 

Method
Scrap the Chinese potato , wash well n then cut into 1 inch pieces. 

In a kadai add oil , then add chopped onions and fry till transparent . Add in chopped tomatoes n fry till the raw smell goes n its mushy . Add chilly powder n fry for a minute , then add tamarind paste,salt n water , then add  Chinese potatoes , cover n cook till done .
