Broken Wheat Dosa with Tomato Onion Chutney ..Version 2
- Broken Wheat ..1 cup
- Urid Dhal ..1/2 cup
- Thick Poha /Beaten Rice ..1/4 th cup
- Methi seeds ..1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Wash n soak Broken wheat in just enough water for 3 hours .Dont add too much water , only till it soaks . Wash n soak urid dhal n methi seeds .
Wash n soak thick poha in jsut enough water for 3 hours .Dont add too much water , just till it soaks .
Grind urid dhal n methi seeds to a fine batter , to it add the soaked thick poha n grind again to a fine batter .. then add the broken wheat soaked n grind to a fine batter .... remove the batter , add salt n ferment overnight . Dont add too much water while grinding n also let the batter be a little thicker .
Heat a dosa tawa , drizzle oil n spread a ladle full batter n cook n roast on both sides till done adding little oil at the edges.
Tomato Onion Chutney
- Tomatoes ..red fully ripened ..4
- Onion ..1 huge
- Coriander seeds ..2 tsp heaped
- Cumin seeds ..1 tsp
- Garlic flakes ..4 to 6
- Methi seeds .. few counts
- Dry red chilly .. 4 to 5
- Oil ..2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Wash tomatoes n onion , roughly chop them
Remove the skin of garlic n chop them
In a kadai add oil n roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds , methi seeds n dry red chilly , then add chopped onion n fry till transparent, add chopped garlic n stir again till raw smell goes , add chopped tomatoes , salt n cook till soft . Cool n grind to a paste .
