Pagila Raw Podi  Phagila Sukkke adding Ambado

Pagila Rawa Podi/ Kantola /Spine Gourd Rawa fries 
  • Pagila/Kantola..10 to 12  
  • Red chilly powder.. 1 tblsp
  • Hing/Asafoetida ..2 pinch
  • Turmeric powder..1/4 th tsp 
  • Rice flour..2 tsp
  • Rawa/Semolina ..1 tblsp 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Oil for deep frying . 

Method 
Wash the Kantola n slice them .

In a bowl add red chilly powder, hing, turmeric powder,Rice flour  n salt . Add the sliced kantola n mix well ..keep aside for 5 mts . 

Heat oil in a kadai , dip the marinated kantola  in rawa n deep fry few at a time till crisp .


Phagila Sukkke adding Ambado / Spine Gourd Cooked in Coconut based Dry Masala adding Sour Hogplum's 

  • Phagila / Spine Gourd ...1/4 th kg 
  •  Potato- 1 
  • Ambado/ Sour Hog Plum's ..2 
  •  Oil ...1 tsp
  •  Urid dhal ..2 tsp  
  • Roasted dry red chilies ...6 to 8
  • Grated coconut.. 2 cups 
  • salt to taste 

Seasoning 
  • Oil..1 tsp 
  • Mustard seeds..1/2 tsp 
  • Curry leaves..2 sprigs.

    Method 
    Wash spine gourd n chop into 2 inch pieces . 

    Wash n peel potatoes n cube them to 2 inch pieces .. 

    Wash n roughly crush sour hog plum's 

    In a pan add oil n roast urid dhal till brown ..cool it 

    Grind grated coconut n roasted dry red chillies  to a  coarse paste n just before removing the paste add the  roasted cooled urid dhal n grind for few seconds .

     In a kadai add oil n splutter mustard seeds then  add curry leaves . ground masala  chopped n crushed vegetables n water along with salt n cook till the vegetables are soft n all the masala dries up 

    Note : If no sour hog plum then add tamarind a small piece while grinding the masala
